Braun Series 7 790cc-4 / 790cc-3 & 790cc Differences

What is the difference between the 790cc-4 and 790cc you may be wondering if you are in America. Or what is the difference between the 7690cc-3 and the 790cc you may be wondering if you are in Europe.

Very recently, the new model of the 790cc was released. However, what are the differences? It is not clear on first glance on what has changed in the latest version of this Braun Series 7 Shaver as a big deal has not been made of exactly why this new model has been released, and why it warrants being called new over the prior model.

The one thing that is immediately obvious is that the clean and renew unit has turned from white to black. As a bad joke you could say that perhaps they manufactured too many and in gathering dust they turned to black. Although actually in reality there may be an element of truth related to that - white items are more easily stained and likely to show dirt than black ones - and maybe this change back to the traditional black was influenced by customer feedback.

But anyway, what else is new? Okay well with this new version 790cc-4 (America) / 790cc-3 (Europe) you get two additional settings on the shaver unit. You get an option for intensive shave, and an option for sensitive shave allowing you to have a more customised shaving experience. Very nice additions to what already was a very high end, high performing shaver.

The other difference is that instead of getting a plastic pod to store your shaver in, you now get a flexible zip up travel pouch. A much better and more durable solution. One plastic is cracked, that's it, ruined. Not so easy to destroy a more flexible material.

With the release of these new models, or at least returning for the Christmas period, similarly to last year, you can enjoy a fantastic price drop that funnily enough even outstrips the price of the older and now discontinued model (with the white clean and renew unit).

So if you are looking for a high performance shaver and you want it at a great price, right now is the best time to buy. At the time of writing, the 790cc-4 is $214.99 (as opposed to the old model at $264.99) and similarly in the UK the 790cc-3 is £163, as opposed to the old 790cc at £205.49. So if you buy now you are locking in a superior, upgraded model at a discount. Do not wait until the price rises and be forced to compromise or wait until next Christmas, buy yours now!
